Flower Power...At My Sister’s House Domestic Violence Shelter, we assist individuals and families in putting their lives back together after the crisis of a domestic violence situation or from a sexual assault incident. We also give safe shelter while they get themselves organized and one way to ‘calm the waters’ is providing a nice environment. Spring is just around the corner and most everyone will start planning their gardens with various beautiful flowers. At My Sister’s House, we are doing the same but with our usual ‘zero to minuscule’ budget for such things. With this in mind, we ask the residents of Fayette County that while you are out buying your flowers; please think of us by purchasing a plant for our shelter. This may not seem like much help- but it is. Think of how calm and focused you feel after tending to your garden and enjoying those flowers; the beautiful colors, different textures, and wonderful fragrances. If you are able to purchase a flowering plant for us- annuals or perennials- please drop them off at the shelter office located at 117 N. Main St. in WCH. The office is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Thank you for your continued support. Jacky Wilson
